About The Unit
Over the years, Northstar Explorer Scout Unit has distinguished itself as a centre of excellence for all that Explorers stands for. We are fairly unlimited in the activities that we do; e.g. White Water Rafting, Sailing, Skiing and Scuba diving. The Scouting essentials are also included, allowing plenty of opportunities for all and catering for those that like to keep their feet on the ground as well. In the summer of 2008, we camped for a week in Venosc, French Alps, experiencing many team building activities.
The Northstar Leadership team is a vibrant mixture of Scouters that each add to the success of the Unit. There is a total of 5 Leaders, who all enjoy and often take part in the activities that take place, giving us many lighthearted moments.
The Unit has around 15 members, with a good mix of both boys and girls. These Explorers come from across Stafford, the villages and the wider area e.g. Rugeley. The unit is welcoming to all new members. Most of the Unit are also Young Leaders, helping out in the younger sections in both Scouting and Guiding. You are able to obtain the Young Leaders award as well, which looks great on CVs.
